This is a site with a very ambitious goal: to be an innovator in the world of online video. For us to make this goal a reality, we had to start with many hours of research and planning. Having completed extensive market research, we were able to condense the essence of what we felt made citylifeTV.ca stand out from the crowd. We then focused on the functionality of the site from the end-user perspective. The placement of every button and link on the site needed to make sense and work for the user to allow him or her to quickly and intuitively navigate through the site. One important consideration made was the inclusion of mobile video compatibility. With the social networking market exploding in recent years, making all videos compatible to smart phones was essential.
The feature list for this site is extensive. The fully custom CMS system allows control and scheduling over almost every aspect of the site. Other features include: comments, rating system, social sharing, mobile compatibility, ad system, RSS feed, scheduled featured content on homepage with video thumbnails, and more.

This project presented many challenges and hurdles, both from a technical standpoint, as well as a usability and functionality perspective. The end-product hits the mark on delivering an end-user experience that is unique in the market, provides social interactivity essential to community awareness and growth, and has the depth of content to keep users coming back.
